Students Guide To Policy- Virtual Fellowship

The STAND Policy Fellowship is a virtual program designed to empower students to become changemakers in advocacy, legislation, and policy research. Through monthly meetings, collaborative discussions, and mentorship from policy experts, fellows will explore how laws are shaped, how to engage with legislators, and how to design actionable policy proposals that address pressing issues such as environmental justice, animal welfare, and human rights.

Fellows will work together on projects, attend workshops on advocacy strategy and communication, and learn how to make their voices heard through research, writing, and direct civic engagement.

STAND Policy Working Groups

STAND Policy Working Groups are collaborative, project-based teams that bring together students, researchers, and young professionals to develop evidence-based policy solutions addressing global sustainability challenges.

Each Working Group focuses on a specific policy area—such as climate action, food systems, biodiversity, animal welfare, environmental justice, artificial intelligence, public health, education, or sustainable cities—and works over several months to produce tangible deliverables. These may include policy briefs, comparative research reports, legislative recommendations, stakeholder analyses, educational toolkits, data dashboards, or implementation frameworks.

Working Groups operate through structured meetings, collaborative research, expert engagement, and peer review, allowing members to gain practical experience in policy analysis while contributing to high-quality publications under the STAND Global Goals Initiative. Participants work alongside individuals from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, encouraging interdisciplinary perspectives and internationally informed solutions.

STAND Global Goals Ambassador

The STAND Global Goals Ambassador Program is an international leadership initiative that empowers students and young professionals to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through collaboration, advocacy, research, and community action.

Ambassadors join a global network of emerging leaders committed to creating measurable impact within their communities while contributing to international initiatives led by STAND. Participants collaborate across disciplines and countries, engage with policy experts and partner organizations, contribute to research and educational resources, support global campaigns, and represent STAND through outreach and events.

Throughout the program, ambassadors have opportunities to participate in Global Innovation Teams, publish policy briefs and research, organize local and virtual initiatives, contribute to STAND's analytics and data projects, and present their work during the annual Global Goals Conference. Ambassadors are encouraged to specialize in one or more Sustainable Development Goals while collaborating across issue areas to develop interdisciplinary solutions.
